BEFORE SERVICE STARTS
WHAT IS THE
Services generally last about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
HOW ARE GUESTS GREETED?
During the Worship service, a Kings Avenue Deacon will greet our guests from the pulpit. At this time, guests may remain seated or you can stand and our members seated near you will come by and welcome you. You do not have to register or sign your name to anything if you do not wish to; however, we would like to know you were our guest and ask, if you wish to, you can use our tear out connect card located in the lower right side of our bulletin to fill out some information. We ask that you drop it in the offering plate as your offering, so that we may get to know your needs. If you are a first time visitor, please bring the card to the back of the room at the end of the service to receive a special welcome gift. If you are visiting from out of town and planning to move to the Tampa area, we would love to know that. A number of folks are joining us after discovering us on the Web. If you found us this way, please let us know on the guest registration form.
HOW WILL I KNOW
Rev. Charles Richard ("Pastor Chuck”) or the Worship leader will ask the congregation to stand or sit.
During the Worship service the front of the Worship Center may be opened as an altar and invite those who have specific prayer needs to come forward. Pastor Chuck or another minister will pray for those unspoken needs. Depending on time, he may just have prayer without an "Altar call."
Pastor Chuck gives Bible-based messages lasting about 40 minutes. His messages are timely and often sprinkled with appropriate humor.
At the end of his message, Pastor Chuck will offer an invitation for anyone who does not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to accept Him. He will also ask those who would like to become part of our Church family or to be Baptized to make that known. The song that is then sung while the congregation stands is an opportunity for those people to come to the front of the Worship Center and talk with a staff member about their needs.
Our counselors will take those who come forward to an adjacent room, for a few minutes to answer any questions you might have.
Decisions that can be made for membership:
1. BY PROFESSION OF FAITH - If you are not yet a Christian but would like to be, or if you are a Christian but have never been Baptized by immersion as a believer, which the Word of God commands, our pastor will pray with you and guide you in your decision.
2. BY TRANSFER OF LETTER - If you are a Christian and a member of a Church of like faith and order, we will write to the Church where you are a member and request that a letter of transfer.
3. BY STATEMENT - If you are a Christian and have been Baptized as a believer according to the scriptures, and do not either have current membership in a Church or are currently a member of a Church that does not grant letters of transfer, you can receive membership by your affirmation of the above.
Kings Avenue Baptist Church does encourage tithing. However, our guests are not expected to give anything. During this time, if you have filled out the connect card located in the lower right side of our bulletin, we do ask you to drop it in the offering plate.
AFTER THE SERVICE
Pastor Chuck generally meets patrons as they are exiting from the Cheever Center, so you will have a chance to talk with him if you like.
If you have children involved in with Kids Kingdom you can go directly to Cheever 210 - 212 to pick them up.
If you are a first time visitor, we have a special gift for you at the back of the room.
